Smaller Carriers May Hurt You with Insurance Rates
While car insurance rates have gone up for pretty much everyone, some people are being unfairly penalized for having a smaller carrier.
Looking specifically at Colorado, those who are forced to buy from smaller carriers–people who haven’t had insurance before, have had a DUI in the past, have been at fault for accidents, or have a lot of speeding tickets. In doing so, they’re often charged higher rates.
This forces lower income folks to buy from a more expensive carrier and then pay a higher rate to switch to a big name one.
By paying attention to studies such as these, drivers can keep on top of these slight trends and save themselves in the long-run.
